Functional Integration

Solo In-Person FI Lesson

By Appointment Only

Private FI® lessons are a one-hour retreat for the mind and body. This holistic practice, a core part of the Feldenkrais Method® of somatic education, is commonly tied to lowered stress, chronic pain, and anxiety in its students, as well as noticeable physical benefits including but not limited to: increased flexibility, strength, balance, blood flow, comfort, and ease.

Functional Integration lessons involve the gentle articulation and deep consideration of body parts in motion and at rest. They are usually conducted standing or lying on the floor, although a chair or pad may, at times, be necessary. No experience or athletic ability is required; all students are welcome.

One-on-one FI sessions can only be conducted live, in person. With current public health risks in mind, they are delivered only in Donna’s sanitized studio space, with all necessary precautions taken by both student and practitioner.

Donna Wood’s practice, Feldenkrais San Diego, is rooted in her more than twenty-five years of immersion in the Feldenkrais Method®, Aikido, and Capoeira. Her experience as a sculptor, dancer, and musician informs her work in a way that illuminates human movement as an art form.
