Aikido with Donna Wood

Aikido with Donna Wood

The ability to ‘move from your center in all directions’ is of the essence in martial arts and is a major theme in the Feldenkrais Method. Moshe Feldenkrais was a Judo practitioner, and many of the lessons he developed are consistent with the spirit of martial arts.

We offer one-on-one and group Aikido classes.

The philosophy of Aikido is centered on harmony (Ai), spiritual strength (Ki), peace, and following the Aikido way (Do). The art’s philosophy is to meet a physical attack with the avoidance of violence by seizing control of the situation and neutralizing the attack with an outcome where no one is hurt.

One-on-one and group Aikido classes can occur over Zoom with you, your business, or your family.

Donna is a black-belt Aikido master and trained teacher of the worldwide celebrated practice.

Donna Wood’s practice, Feldenkrais San Diego, is rooted in her more than twenty-five years of immersion in the Feldenkrais Method®, Aikido, and Capoeira. Her experience as a sculptor, dancer, and musician informs her work in a way that illuminates human movement as an art form.
